It’s early March 2024 and a ray of light shines through the tail end of winter. It’s a gift from my daughter who wants to send me on a songwriter retreat. I am touched deeply. After six solo albums and a disintegrating music market I have been saying to myself ‘why bother?’
I gladly accept the love and the gift, and in so doing something stirs within and a new adventure starts. As well as booking on the retreat I think it’ll be good to work with Neill MacColl again. In August 2024 Neill and I work on four new songs which are collectively known as The *Komorebi Adventures. The rest of the adventures will unfold as the light plays in the shadows.

Those for songs are :

Russian Doll
Under the Mat
Strange Birds
Aspen Leaves
All songs written by Tom Houston.
Produced by Neill MacColl.
Mixed and Mastered by Mattie Foulds Caribou.

I attend the retreat in Octobet and meet some great folks. A new song emerges called Wishing For Snow. Neill and I begin again.
Contact me if you are interested in these emerging tracks.

*Komorebi is a Japanese word that means the play of sunlight through leaves.
